You can roast or grill these foil wrapped cabbage wedges. Tart lemon and salty Worcestershire sauce match with just a hint of bacon (that's right, we said bacon) for a twist on cabbage that will leave your clamoring for more.
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
2 tablespoons bacon, cooked and crumbled
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper (more or less to taste)
1 head of cabbage
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Cut cabbage into four wedges and clean. Place each wedge on a piece of aluminum foil.
- Mix the remaining ingredients and sprinkle evenly over the cabbage. Wrap the foil around the cabbage and bake for half an hour.
Tip: If you’re grilling, the cabbage will also cook up nicely on the grill.
Chef's Practical Notes
Ensure you brown the meat thoroughly; that "crispy crust" is where all the flavor for the gravy comes from.
